Wang Yi Stresses Cooperation for Stable China, US Relations
Wang, who also serves on the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stated during a symposium on international affairs and China’s foreign relations in 2025 that both countries must address their respective concerns through equality, respect, and mutual benefit, finding a constructive path for coexistence.
He noted that over the past year, China has upheld firm positions on fundamental issues and defended its core interests with determination. At the same time, China has engaged in exchanges and pursued cooperation with the U.S., urging Washington to adopt a rational and objective perspective and to resolve disputes through dialogue and consultation.
According to Wang, the evolution of China-U.S. relations demonstrates that mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation are essential for stable ties that benefit the wider world.
He stressed that both nations stand to gain from collaboration but risk losses through confrontation. Wang further cautioned that arrogance, condescension, and inconsistency between words and actions are unsustainable approaches.
