Qatar Issues Complaint to ICAO Over Israeli Attack
Abdullah Al-Malki, Qatar’s permanent representative to ICAO, delivered the letter to the president of the ICAO Council, according to a Qatari news agency.
In the correspondence, Qatar emphasized that the attack constituted a “flagrant violation of its sovereignty and the provisions of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.”
The Gulf nation also asserted that it “retains all its rights under international law.”
On Sept. 9, Israel carried out an attack on a residential compound in Doha, killing five Hamas leaders while they were discussing a US proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza, where nearly 65,200 Palestinians have died since October 2023.
Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the enclave.
