Korean Air Lands USD50B Boeing Deal

(MENAFN) South Korea’s flagship airline, Korean Air, announced Tuesday a massive $50 billion agreement to acquire 103 next-generation aircraft from Boeing, alongside 19 spare engines sourced from GE Aerospace and CFM International, plus a comprehensive 20-year engine maintenance program with GE Aerospace.

According to the carrier’s official statement, the deal breaks down into $36.2 billion allocated for Boeing aircraft and $13.7 billion covering spare engines and extended engine maintenance services.

The contract signing took place in Washington following a summit between South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and U.S. President Donald Trump.

This transaction represents the largest purchase in Korean Air’s history, with deliveries of the aircraft set to roll out in phases until the end of 2030.
