Gaza Starves: Ongoing Israeli Blockade Kills Eight More Palestinians
Posting on X, Munir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s Health Ministry, confirmed that 114 of the victims were children.
“The famine is silently ravaging the bodies of civilians, depriving children of their right to life, and turning tents and hospitals into daily scenes of tragedy,” he wrote.
The ongoing Israeli blockade has pushed the coastal enclave to the brink of famine, compounding the toll of Israel’s military campaign, which has killed nearly 62,300 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the conflict in Gaza.
Simultaneously, Israel is facing proceedings at the International Court of Justice, where it stands accused of genocide over its actions in the besieged enclave.
