FBI Conducts Search of John Bolton’s Home
The operation took place at Bolton’s house located in Bethesda, Maryland — a suburb near Washington, D.C. — starting around 7 a.m. local time.
The directive for the search reportedly came from FBI Director Kash Patel, according to Friday’s article by the tabloid.
Later that day, Patel wrote on the American social platform X, stating, “NO ONE is above the law … @FBI agents on mission.”
The inquiry is believed to pertain to confidential records and allegedly began multiple years ago. However, it was reportedly paused during the tenure of former President Joe Biden “for political reasons,” the newspaper cited a high-ranking U.S. authority as saying.
Bolton, who worked under President Trump from 2018 to 2019 before becoming a vocal critic, has previously been accused of disclosing restricted content in his 2020 book "The Room Where It Happened."
