Salah Sets Record with Third PFA Player of Year Award
The Liverpool forward, 33, edged out teammates including Alexis Mac Allister, along with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer, and Arsenal’s Declan Rice to claim the prestigious individual honor.
Previously awarded in 2018 and 2022, Salah’s latest recognition follows a standout campaign in which he spearheaded Liverpool’s league title win—finishing 10 points clear of second-place Arsenal. He ended the season as the Premier League’s top scorer with 29 goals and added 18 assists.
Since his arrival at Anfield in 2017, Salah has netted 244 goals, placing him third on the club’s all-time scoring chart.
In the same announcement, Aston Villa’s 23-year-old midfielder Morgan Rogers was named Young Player of the Year.
“This very special award hits different when we have an important trophy to go along with it,” Salah said in a statement. “Being champions is what matters and we will fight to do it again this season. I am incredible grateful to the players who voted for me.”
